Fire Trucks Collide in St. Louis, MO

Two fire trucks responding to a fire on Middleton Ave. collided with one another Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Middleton Ave. and Martin Luther King Dr. Brian Westbrook, the driver of the truck heading south on Martin Luther King Dr. and only injured person at the incident, was taken to the hospital after the collision with a concussion and released shortly afterward. Westbrook, a 31-year-old firefighter and paramedic with three years of experience, had no previous accidents. Michael Johnson, the other driver, is 32-years-old and a seven-year veteran firefighter with five years driving experience. Ken Rodriguez, a fire department spokesman, stated that “the accident is under review and the cause is unknown, but once facts are known they will respond accordingly.”
